Italian Space Agency astronaut Paolo Nespoli captured this image from his unique vantage point on the International Space Station. He posted this image to social media today saying, “#California coast (on the right) and its amazing national parks: #Yosemite and the #Sequoia National Forest! #VITAmssion #FindYourPark”. Six people are currently living and working on the space station, which orbits our plants from 250 miles above. They conduct important science and research that will not only benefit life here on Earth, but will help us send humans farther into the solar system than ever before. Short exposure time of daytime Earth pictures, like this one, typically do not capture stars as they are too dim compared to the brightness of the planet. Credit:
